Gigi Brisson is a passionate advocate for nature and the protection of all wildlife. She founded Ocean Elders after participating in the 2010 Mission Blue expedition where over 100 scientists, business leaders, philanthropists, and entertainment icons came together to support Dr. Sylvia Earle’s TED wish. In founding Ocean Elders, Gigi’s objective was to merge the deep knowledge of scientists with the power of amplifiers in order to reach broader audiences, including government and business leaders.
Gigi spends many hours working for Ocean Elders, but truly enjoys being outdoors and experiencing nature. She is an amateur birder and flies vintage aircraft, although has not found much time for this hobby lately, as there is always something to do to benefit wildlife. She and her husband own a ranch with many well-loved animals.
For the last 30 years, Ms. Brisson has invested in many high-tech companies and continues to identify and invest in emerging technology and platforms, especially those oriented toward social good. Ms. Brisson has served on a number of boards in the technology and non-profit sectors. She received her M.B.A. from NYU’s Stern Business School and her B.S. from Northwestern University.
